Organic bath products | ‘STYX’ & ‘farfalla’

There’s nothing better than a nice, warm bath, especially when you have some amazing smelling and totally natural care products. If you’re stressed, anxious or just tired, taking a bath can really be therapeutic. Get some candles, nice music, a glass of your favourite wine, a couple of lovely scented products and just feel how your whole body gets relaxed. If you don’t know which products to use, here are some good ones that I’ve tried recently.

But first, a little information about the brands I used. STYX is an Austrian natural cosmetics brand founded in 1965 as a family company. Their products are made from organically grown or wild plant-based materials. Farfalla is a Swiss brand founded in 1982 by a group of young yoga practising and kombucha drinking nature lovers. Their products are strongly aroma based, with essential oils as one of the main ingredients.

Rose Garden Bath Salts – bought for €8.89 on Ecco Verde

My hands down favourite product of the ones that I tried was the STYX Rose Garden Bath Salt. The Damask rose petals and some additional fragrance make it smell amazing. And the Dead Sea salt really soothes your skin, even the sensitive type.

I also love the container that the salt comes in. It’s pretty big and practical, so you can easily reuse it to store other things. I keep other sea salt in it now. Too bad it’s made from plastic, though, and not from glass. That would have been even more perfect.

Pomegranate Shower Gel – bought for €8.89 on Ecco Verde

After my bath I used the STYX Pomegranate Shower Gel. It’s a very gentle product, and it smells nice, fresh and fruity. Plus, pomegranate is great for your skin, particularly for mature skin. It promotes cell regeneration and elasticity, it nourishes and hydrates your skin, and it’s a strong antioxidant.

The shower gel also contains limonene, citral and linalool, which are known to be natural allergens. Not for everyone, of course, but if you are allergic to these ingredients, keep in mind that they are present in small amounts. Personally, I haven’t had any issues, and I do get rosacea flareups from heavily “citric” products.

Another great thing is that the shower gel is vegan and ECOCERT certified. All the products discussed here are, of course, cruelty-free.

Soothing Orange Blossom Bubble Bath | Protective Aura Bubble Bath – bought for €9.89 each on Ecco Verde

No bath is complete without some soft and foamy bubbles. I tried two products from the AromaCare collection by farfalla and they both smell heavenly. The Orange Blossom has a fresh, sweet and soothing scent; and the Aura bubble bath with a woody, Swiss stone pine scent really helped me to relax and just enjoy the moment. Plus, they’re both vegan and BDIH certified.

The only kind of disappointing thing was that the bubbles dissolved pretty fast. But that’s probably because these products are natural and excessive foaming is usually caused by chemicals. So I guess that’s not really a complaint.

Keep in mind though, both products contain limonene, linalool, geraniol, citronellol and citral. If you’re allergic to one of these, it may be best to use another bubble bath. Again, my skin reacted normally to them.

I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend!
